Apparently, Professor Parshall lives in a different universe than I do.

In his universe:

  • The "Big Bang Theory" is part of a branch of science known as "astrology."
  • IF...THEN statements in computer programming are assignment statments.
  • You can remember "vertical axis" because it's like vertical blinds, which you can move up and down.


In case you're not familiar with them, vertical blinds look like this:



and they move SIDE to SIDE.

That's right, folks. He spent at least 5 minutes telling college students about the various parts of a graph and how to remember VERTICAL and HORIZONTAL. Didn't we learn that in elementary school? If it wasn't kindergarten, it was well before third grade.

*sigh*

In related news, Professor Vail is going to put me to sleep ... or in a coma ...
